to reforest the
CERRO PELÓN SANCTUARY
“Corre, Trota, Sálvala 2025” is a race that seeks to raise awareness about the effect of climate change on the migratory route and habitat of the Monarch Butterfly in Cerro Pelón.
The event aims to raise funds to restore the first hibernation site of the Monarch Butterfly discovered in 1975 by Kenneth Brugger and Catalina Aguado. With your support we will help create the ideal habitat for the Monarch Butterfly with restoration work in the Indigenous Community and Ejido of Nicolás Romero in Zitácuaro Michoacán.
Special guests at the race will be:
Anthony Battah, Carlota James and Greg Armstrong, international ultra-marathoners, running for the same cause.
Nación Verde has contributed to the restoration of the Monarch Butterfly habitat in Cerro Pelón since 2013 with restorations and 294,500 trees have been planted,
